Examiner wins European design award

THE Irish Examiner has been recognised as one of the best designed newspapers in Europe for the second year in succession.

The newspaper collected an award in the Best Front Page category for its coverage of the death of former Taoiseach Charles J Haughey at the European Newspaper Design Awards.

Coverage of the O’Connell Street riots and the award-winning investigation into the juvenile justice system were also singled out by the judges. The paper was also commended for its comprehensive coverage of the World Cup.
