Dolores set for another gamble

SHE won’t be putting all her money on it, but lottery millionaire Dolores McNamara is hoping for another lucky bank holiday weekend as her family-owned racehorse bids for success at Wexford this afternoon.

Dolores set for another gamble

Dolores scooped €115.4 million in the Euromillions draw during the August holiday weekend last year.

Carraig na gCapall runs in the colours of her husband, Adrian. The six-year-old mare is trained at Clonlara outside Limerick city by Ciaran O’Brien.

Ciaran was approached by Adrian McNamara last year to keep a lookout for a potential national hunt horse.

Carraig na gCapall won a point-to-point last year at Templemore and has had a number of very promising runs at Listowel and Limerick over the past two months. The horse is a daughter of Carroll House which won the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.

It is not known if Dolores will travel to Wexford this afternoon from her €1.7m mansion, Lough Derg Hall, which overlooks the Clare lakeside town of Killaloe.

Adrian has been present at meetings every time Carraig na gCapall has run.
