College delight as almost 2,900 to graduate
They will be conferred during what are some of the biggest indoor events held in the south-east region each year. Several thousand people — including guests of the graduates — are expected to attend conferring ceremonies at College Street from today until Friday.
At 2,883, the overall number of graduates being conferred at Waterford this week represents an increase of over 44% on the comparable figure for 2000 when there were 1,999 graduates conferred. Graduates in the “Class of 2006” range in age from 19 to 67 years and come from more than 20 countries.
