THE controversial PPARS payroll system for the health services is still costing up to €1.5 million a month, it was claimed yesterday.

Fine Gael’s health spokesman Dr Liam Twomey said that information received by him showed that the project, which has already cost taxpayers €130m, will cost a further €18m this year.

This year’s figures will include a €10m outlay to the two consulting companies at the centre of the row — Deloitte and IBM.
