LABOUR has described the questions surrounding Bertie Ahern as the most serious facing any Taoiseach since Charles Haughey.

As opposition parties continued to pile the pressure on the Taoiseach, Fianna Fáil and the Coalition, Labour leader Pat Rabbitte said there was a new uncertainty in the political situation following the latest comments by Mr Ahern on the Manchester payment.
