Third youth arrested over shooting of garda

GARDAÍ arrested a third youth yesterday in connection with a shooting rampage in Dublin on Wednesday in which a garda narrowly escaped with his life.

The 17-year-old is suspected of being the third member of a gang which shot the garda sergeant before endangering the lives of two innocent civilians in a subsequent car crash and shooting.

Two of the youths, one aged just 16, the other 22, were arrested after the second shooting, but the third gang member escaped.
