LEGENDARY gambler and racehorse owner JP McManus has secured a deal with a junior Limerick GAA club to swap its three-acre playing fields for a state-of-the-art sports complex on a 20-acre site nearby.

Limerick County Council yesterday confirmed talks are continuing to enable the Staker Wallace GAA club submit plans for a new complex near its present ground.

It is believed the club will hand over its playing pitch to Mr McManus and move to the super-modern complex, which will be paid for by the millionaire sports enthusiast.
