THE health of children will be at risk if local authorities cut off the water to schools for non-payment of rates, a Fianna Fáil politician warned last night.

Cork city councillor Tim Brosnan urged the council to take a stand against the Government’s Water Services Pricing Policy as it applies to schools.

Under the policy, all premises categorised as non-domestic must have water meters installed by the end of the year and pay for the supply and treatment of water.
