TWO nurses who tried to save the life of a young woman after she collapsed on a flight to Ireland have appealed for a change in the law to require all airlines to carry basic medical equipment.

The 24-year-old Italian art student who was on her way to take up a job as an au pair here, died after suddenly losing consciousness on a Ryanair flight from Venice to Dublin last Friday morning.

Two Irish nurses and an Italian doctor who went to her assistance were horrified to discover that the first aid kit on board contained no useful resuscitation aids.
