Voters say Kenny trustworthy but not as tough as Bertie

FINE GAEL leader Enda Kenny is being increasingly viewed by voters as credible Taoiseach material though he still lacks key qualities and character strengths possessed by Bertie Ahern.

Mr Ahern enjoys a greater degree of public confidence in respect of his ability to do the job as Taoiseach; his ability to make hard decisions and his competence with regard to displaying leadership in a crisis, according to a comparison between the two alternative Taoisigh in the Irish Examiner/Lansdowne Market Research opinion poll.

Voters also express greater confidence in his ability to guide the country’s economy.
