Tánaiste puts candidates on election ‘war-footing’

TÁNAISTE Michael McDowell put the PDs on an election “war-footing” yesterday as he launched a hunt for high-profile candidates to boost the party’s chances at the polls.

In his first interview as PD leader, Mr McDowell made it clear he would be seeking big name standard bearers to battle key Dáil seats as he laid into the record of opposition leaders.

“I’m looking constantly now for people who have the capacity and the willingness to serve the Irish people.
