AN investigation by Fianna Fáil into allegations that one of its former councillors was caught snorting cocaine has been put on hold due to his health problems.

Elected representative Liam Kelly announced his resignation from the party’s group on Dublin City Council at the weekend amid the ongoing controversy of photographs published in newspapers last month which allegedly showed him taking drugs.

However, Mr Kelly is understood to be seeking medical treatment for personal problems and has declared himself unavailable to assist the Fianna Fáil inquiry for the moment.
