STRIKING taxi drivers will meet the industry’s regulator this morning in a bid to end an escalating dispute over a set of pricing and other reforms, which are due to take effect in a fortnight’s time.

Talks were due to get underway this morning, several hours after the start of a planned nationwide taxi strike, scheduled between 6am and 1pm.

A successful outcome to the talks would have made possible an early end to the strike, which was expected to cause major disruption, in particular, for people travelling to and from the country’s airports.
