THE need to reopen a sexual assault treatment unit in Tralee has been highlighted by recent alleged sex attacks in Kerry.

Gardaí and the Kerry Law Society are backing the campaign by the Kerry Rape Crisis Centre for such a unit in Kerry General Hospital, Tralee.

Rape Crisis Centre co-ordinator Vera O’Leary said it would cost around €100,000 to reopen the unit.
