FF has bottle for battle, says Cowen

FINANCE Minister Brian Cowen yesterday declared Fianna Fáil had the “bottle for the battle” in a confident prediction that the party would win a third term of office in next year’s general election.

Mr Cowen said recent opinion polls showing low support levels for Fianna Fáil also told him that a large portion of the electorate remained undecided about what choice they would make for government.

Speaking at the end of the Fianna Fáil parliamentary party meeting in Westport, Mr Cowen said Fianna Fáil were “up for it” and was confident its strong track record of delivering economic prosperity would convince voters to return a FF-led government.
