Green light for wind turbines

A WIND energy company has been granted planning permission for 18 large turbines in Terelton, while a developer has been refused the go-ahead for 58 homes in Glanmire.

Barna Wind Energy, a company based in Lissarda, has got the green light from Cork County Council planners to construct 18 turbines, 18 transformers and a 70 metre-high monitoring mast at Barnadivane, Terelton

Bantry-based Murnane & O’Shea has been refused permission to proceed with 14 houses and 44 apartments at Springmount, Glanmire. The same company has lodged an application in the townland of Poulacurry South for 27 houses.
