Check out innovative dating website

A NEW company says “check me out” calling cards could be the answer to dating dilemmas.

Check out innovative dating website

Galway entrepreneur Frances Cahill says that instead of passing on their mobile number, flirters will trade calling cards directing the object of their desire to their online profile.

She has set up the website checkmeout.ie, where people can build profiles and get business cards printed with a number that gives their intended love interest access to their details.

Frances explained: “If you got a card with a website that said check me out, the first thing you are going to do is look at the website.

“Lots of people don’t want to go up and talk to somebody or are too shy, and this way you can give them a card and run away if you want to.”

Frances says the website will be particularly useful for 30-somethings who do not have the same energy for the dating scene.

“It will be good for people who cannot afford to mix in the single scene all the time. It is just about getting things off to a start. You can put as much as you like up on your profile.”

It costs €50 for a year’s access to the site, of which 10% will be donated to the Marie Keating Foundation.

Frances feels the ability to give out a number rather than personal details will give more peace of mind.

She said: “Only people with the pin number can access your profile and then you can decide what you want to do after that.”
