Children’s hospital

WORK is expected to start on the design and construction of the new national children’s hospital on a site adjacent to Dublin’s Mater Hospital at the end of the year, the Health Service Executive (HSE) announced yesterday.

A hospital development board is to be established before the end of the year that will see the project to completion.

The existing joint HSE/Department of Health and Children transition group is to determine the number and location of urgent care centres and the range of services to be provided by them.
