CONSUMER champion Eddie Hobbs and beauty industry players are both in agreement that Irish hair salon prices have risen by up to a third in the past five years because Irish women “just keep on handing over the cash”.

According to Hobbs, the rate of hairdressing inflation has outstripped all other businesses year-on-year for the past five years as “people haven’t objected to the prices”.

Irish hairdressers say the price hikes are due to rising property and staffing costs.
