RESEARCHERS have made a breakthrough in the treatment of spinal cord injuries which could reverse paralysis.

Professor Anthony Windebank, a leading expert in the field, will unveil details of the exciting research which could deliver a cure for paralysis within 10 years at a free public lecture in Cork tomorrow night.

Prof Windebank is leading Irish-American research into treatments for spinal injury. He directs a large research team at the Mayo Clinic in the US but he joined the Regenerative Medicine Institute (REMEDI) at NUI Galway last year on a Science Foundation Ireland Walton Fellowship.
