THE Government is to establish a body to capitalise on the opportunities offered by the Olympics in London in 2012. Sports Minister John O’Donoghue said yesterday a planning committee would be set up to ensure “all business, tourism and sport opportunities for Ireland are maximised”.

His officials have drawn up detailed proposals for the committee, which will draw members from several Government departments, State agencies and sport bodies.
