Battle lines drawn over plans to extend city boundary

CORK’S two local authorities are on a collision course over plans by the city to extend its boundary for the first time in 40 years.

City councillors called yesterday for talks with the county council on the issue to stop.

They also called for a plebiscite to be carried out in suburbs that could be affected if they come under city control.
