IARNRÓD Éireann has warned passengers that unofficial action by train drivers could disrupt services on the Cork-Dublin and Cork-Tralee lines next Monday.

The threatened action by the drivers falls on the day the first of the company’s new €117 million InterCity trains are due to go into service.

The company issued a statement last night saying that Cork-based drivers, who are members of SIPTU and the NBRU, had indicated that they will refuse to cooperate with the introduction of the new trains.
