THREE University of Limerick students were arrested over the weekend in connection with more than a dozen house robberies in recent weeks.

The first and second-year students, who are all from Cork city, were arrested by gardaí during the early hours of Saturday morning following a break in at a house in the Castletroy area of Limerick.

When gardaí arrived at the house at 3.50am they arrested two of the intruders at the scene and the third man was arrested a short time later after trying to flee the scene.
