Man stabbed in throat by fellow inmate ‘serious’

AN inmate of Mountjoy prison was in serious condition at the Mater hospital in Dublin last night after being stabbed by another prisoner in an apparent murder attempt.

The 22-year-old male victim is weeks away from completing his three-and-a-half year sentence. He is due for release in June.

He was stabbed through the throat and in the shoulder. The attack happened just after 6pm in the recreation area of A Division.
