THOUSANDS of nurses and midwives are expected to converge on Croke Park in June for a national rally to protest at poor pay and working conditions.

Yesterday delegates attending the Irish Nurses Organisation (INO) annual conference voted unanimously in favour of an emergency motion proposing the rally to highlight dissatisfaction with low pay and long working hours.

INO general secretary Liam Doran said they would send the message to Government that there was no more unified trade union in the State.
