Homeowners urged to use green energy

HOUSEHOLDERS across Waterford are being urged to switch to greener, renewable home heating.

Local Fianna Fáil TD, Ollie Wilkinson, is hoping a growing number of home owners will be lured into cost savings through new Government grants for renewable home heating solutions.

Deputy Wilkinson said the greener homes scheme has made available up to €27 million for domestic renewable heat technologies including wood pellet stoves and boilers, solar panels and geothermal heat pumps. Grand aid of €1,100 to €6,500 will be provided depending on the technology used, he said.
