Helicopter training firm sets up airport base

HIGH-FLYERS can now take to the skies over Waterford as part of a venture at its rapidly expanding regional airport.

Cork-based Blue Star Helicopters are setting up a base at Waterford Airport, from where the company will offer helicopter pilot training and introductory flights for novices.

Established in 2003, Blue Star employ a team of experienced instructors each with several hundred — and in some cases over 4,000 — flying hours.
