Charity calendar girl on a winning streak
And now the woman who bared almost everything and joined in a calendar which helped raise €47,000 for cancer charities is about to make some money for herself.
The administrator for Keogh Medical Practice in Waterford is one of two Waterford players who will appear on Saturday night’s Lotto game show, Winning Streak.
“I’m already gearing up for the gibes from Derek Mooney about the sunflower hiding my blushes on the calendar and my possible use of Miracle Gro,” she said yesterday.
Her phone hasn’t stopped hopping and she’s constantly being stopped in the street since she was announced as a contestant for the show.
“Its fantastic. And it put the spotlight on the calendar again, which is fantastic. The more [publicity we do], the more money we will make for two very worthy appeals.”
The fun-loving single woman has one brother, Tom, and two nephews, Jamie and Morgan. They will be among the 22 guests she will bring to the RTÉ studios for the show.
“The bus is booked and we are ready to go. The reaction here has been fabulous. Route 66 have sponsored my outfit and my shoes. Noelle at the Cutting Company is doing my hair for free and my make-up is being sponsored by Marina Brennan.
“If I had a train I could have filled it. I always joked about winning the Lotto. Maybe I’ll get into the Goldmine or get to spin the wheel.
“I could definitely do with a new car. I’m driving a jeep which is a Japanese import and is ‘92-registered,” she said.
A holiday would also be fantastic, she admitted, as she’s just returned to work after being out sick since December.
As well as being no stranger to cameras, studios and bright lights, Eileen is a bit of a radio star.
In 1997, she was selected as being “one of the wildest women in Ireland” on the Gerry Ryan Show and won a trip to South Africa with four other women.
