GARDAÍ have renewed their appeal for information about the murder of a teenage girl amid reports the main suspect is a youth who has previously been questioned by detectives.

The appeal for information was made on the eve of the fourth anniversary of the murder of Raonaid Murray, a 17-year-old south Dubliner,

She was stabbed to death close to her home at Silchester Crescent, Glengeary, on the night of September 4, 1999.

Detectives investigating her death said despite an extensive and ongoing investigation, and a 190,000 offer for information leading to prosecution, no-one has been charged. It was reported last night. investigators suspect a person who was a youth at the time of Raonaid’s murder may have carried out the stabbing.
