Ring ‘gutted’ after being dropped in Kenny reshuffle

ENDA KENNY ran into internal flak within minutes of announcing his front bench reshuffle yesterday when his Mayo colleague Michael Ring bitterly complained about being dropped.

As the Fine Gael leader announced his new Cabinet shortly after 2pm yesterday, it emerged Mr Ring had refused to move from Social and Family Affairs to the Marine portfolio.

“I was offered Marine and saw it as a demotion because it was dealing with a junior minister and not a full Minister,” an angry Mr Ring said.
