Locals welcome Roche’s border remarks

OPPONENTS to the proposed Waterford boundary extension into Kilkenny say they are heartened by news of failed plans in Limerick to extend the city boundary into Clare.

Environment Minister Dick Roche said he was not convinced that an extension of the Limerick boundary into Clare was an option.

Politicians, lobbyists and landowners in Kilkenny say they have drawn solace from the comments and hope the same will apply in their case.
