THE plot thickens.

Finding the plot as Dolores ponders grave matters

House-hunting multi-millionaire Dolores McNamara has splashed out on a new permanent address on the outskirts of Limerick.

It only cost her €2,000 - a figure she earns in interest every six hours.

Dolores, 46, has dipped into her €115 million winnings to make a long-term investment - a new family grave.

The double plot is in a cemetery at Castlemungret on the south side of the city and can accommodate up to six bodies.

The grave was opened when her mother, Betty O’Donovan, was laid to rest there recently. One family source said a new grave had to be found as there was no more room in the O’Donovan family grave in Mount St Lawrence cemetery in the city.

It is believed that Dolores has indicated that when the time comes she wants to be laid to rest near her mother, who was 68 when she died.

Mrs O’Donovan became ill in New York, where she had been living for some years. Dolores brought her home to be amongst her own family in Limerick.

Mrs O’Donovan, who was brought up in Garryowen, was a member of the famous O’Donovan clothing family who owned the Danus suit manufacturing company in Limerick in the 1970s. The company employed hundreds of workers at that time.

Dolores is now house-hunting in the Limerick area as she wants more privacy. Droves of sightseers descend at weekends to see where she lives in St Patrick’s Road, Garryowen.

Married to Adrian, Dolores has six children Dawn, 28, Kim, 22, Kevanne, 20, Gary, 26, Dean, 15 and her 13-year-old son Lee.

She recently spent more than €350,000 on a new house in Castleconnell for her eldest son.

It is near the house that comedian Pat Shortt bought in the village for a figure in excess of €2m.
