Clarification - Luas

An article on the Luas light rail system in the February 3 edition of the Irish Examiner said a ramp at Connolly station had been demolished when plans for the Luas were changed midway through to extend the Tallaght/Connolly line as far as the Point Depot.

Clarification - Luas

The Railway Procurement Agency, which is responsible for Luas, said its plans had not been changed midway through. It said its first application to build a tram stop behind the Connolly Station ramp had been rejected.

The only viable option left was for the ramp to be demolished to make way for a new tram stop. Work on this began before it was proposed last month to extend the Luas line to the Point Depot.
