Irish students count down to plan trip to Mars

A GROUP of Irish scientists will be part of a team helping people boldly go where no one has gone before.

The 18 science and engineering students will contribute to sending the first manned shuttle to Mars when they spend six weeks working with NASA this summer.

The students taking on the FÁS Science Challenge at the Florida Space Authority were chosen from hundreds nominated by the country’s third-level institutions.
