Missing patient badly burned

A MAN who went missing from his hospital bed was found four hours later, badly burned, under the hot pipes in a service room of the building.

Thomas Marr was found in an incoherent, but still conscious, state by staff nurses who were sent to look for him.

The 61-year-old from Birr, Co Offaly, later died, and an inquest into his death was held yesterday. It was adjourned as the coroner wants to call more witnesses and the pathologist who carried out the post mortem.
