FF meltdown: the blame game begins

SENIOR ministers openly squabbled yesterday over who was responsible for the Government’s disastrous local and European election performance.

Ahead of what is expected to be a fractious Fianna Fáil parliamentary party meeting tonight, the blame game began with an apparent split between FF and PD Cabinet ministers over where the blame should lie for the debacle.

Yesterday, Tánaiste Mary Harney pointedly singled out policy areas controlled by Fianna Fáil ministers as key areas in which real change had not been implemented.
