Gardaí bid to seize ex-publican’s ‘criminal assets’

GARDAÍ in Limerick are finalising a legal action to confiscate €60,000 in cash they discovered during a raid on the apartment of former publican Jim ‘Chaser’ O’Brien.

The gardaí are taking the action on the basis that the money was the proceeds of crime.

O’Brien is being held by Belgian police after a major drugs bust operation on the continent.
