BABIES who are bottle-fed are more likely to suffer from obesity later in life, according to new scientific research.

A study, published in the US journal Paediatrics, found that babies drinking formula rather than breast milk took in more calories and experienced weight gain at a crucial stage in growth.

Scientists from the Children of the 90s study, based at the University of Bristol, examined the feeding habits of 881 babies at four months and compared it to their weight gain in childhood.
