Unions and Brennan set to clash again over Aer Rianta report

Union anger at the failure of the Department of Transport to produce a confidential report, despite promises to do so, is likely to be further fuelled by indications that the report will not be forthcoming before today’s meeting. The report, compiled by PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PWC) and already widely leaked, concludes that Shannon Airport would not be viable as an independent company while Cork would suffer substantial losses.

SIPTU national industrial secretary with responsibility for the public sector, Michael Halpenny, said he had expected to receive the report before today’s talks start.
