AER LINGUS unions are to resume talks with management this morning in a bid to force the company to extend the deadline staff have been given to accept a redundancy package.

As part of a radical three-year restructuring plan, Aer Lingus is seeking to shed 1,325 jobs and has given staff until September 14 to agree to a severance package.

However, despite the generous package nine weeks' pay for every year worked the company's main unions IMPACT and SIPTU are concerned about the pay and employment conditions of those who remain.
