A BRITISH medic accused of murdering a young Irish woman in Dublin goes on trial in London next week in the first inter-country prosecution of its kind.

Dr Christopher Newman, 61, who ran a homeopathy clinic, denies murdering his secretary, Georgina Eager, 28, at her flat in Dublin in May 2003.

Forty witnesses including gardaí, the State Pathologist and members of Ms Eager’s family will travel to London for the trial which starts at London’s Old Bailey on Monday.
