Bin fires drive residents out of homes

MORE than 30 residents had to brave sub-zero temperatures early yesterday when apartments were evacuated in Limerick following a blitz of wheelie bin fires.

A man in his 20s has been questioned about the fires, which gardaí believe were deliberate.

The fires broke out in wheelie bins over a two-hour period between 2am and 4am in the city centre area.
