THE mother of the Catholic man shot dead by loyalists in north Belfast yesterday appealed for no retaliation and said she would pray for his killers.

Father-of-one Gerard Lawlor, 19, was walking home from a pub in Antrim Road when he was shot a number of times, a few hundred yards from his Whitewell Road home.

Sharon Lawlor appealed that no revenge should be taken for her son’s death.
