The diagnosis: A suspect case of SARS is a person with a history of high fever and cough or breathing difficulty who has had either close contact with a SARS-infected person or history of travel in an affected area. A probable case of SARS is a suspect case with radiographic evidence consistent with pneumonia or respiratory distress syndrome.
