Red Cow upgrade

The State’s busiest intersection will be upgraded at a cost of €600m, the Minister for Transport Seamus Brennan announced on Saturday.

Red Cow upgrade

Mr Brennan said the upgrade of the M50 motorway at the Red Cow roundabout would begin by year’s end and be completed by 2006.

The intersection will become a spaghetti junction with flyovers separating traffic from the Luas tram system.

“It will end the nightmare that has been the Red Cow Roundabout. It will allow for free-flowing traffic. And it will dramatically reduce the number of cars crossing near the Luas,” he said.
