Students speak out on social issues affecting them

HUNDREDS of young people spoke out on the issues affecting them at an open forum yesterday.

Road deaths, suicide, the lack of youth facilities, sudden adult death syndrome, so-called ‘boy racers’ and social integration were among the issues highlighted by more than 300 students from 16 Munster schools at the country’s first Speak Out Fora.

Students from St Mary’s secondary school in Mallow staged a hard-hitting play on road deaths.
