An Post workers prepare for lockout

AN POST workers were last night preparing for a lockout at the company's Clondalkin mail centre despite impending talks at the Labour Relations Commission (LRC) this afternoon.

As An Post management refused to rule out further suspensions and declined to reinstate the 500 already off the company payroll, both sides are preparing for an escalation in hostilities.

Communication Workers Union (CWU) national officer Sean McDonagh said staff were prepared to occupy the premises if necessary.
