Irish heroes conference set for Galway

ROY KEANE and Christy Ring will go under the microscope today in a conference which looks at Irish heroes.

The Irish Hero Conference will be hosted by the Centre for Irish Studies in NUI, Galway. “It is not simply the heroes themselves that are under discussion,” says organiser, Dr Mike Cronin.

Among the figures under discussion today will be Eamon de Valera, St Patrick, Christy Ring, Roy Keane, Veronica Guerin and Patrick Pearse.
