THE CABIN Fever Diva is back on the high seas and she’s looking for shipmates.

Cabin Fever Diva back on the high seas for safari fun

Reality TV series champ and fun-loving Waterford woman Elaine Power will be spending more time than ever at sea. With the help of her sister Olivia, brother-in-law Ruairi Gibbons and local skipper Noel Power, she’s set up the Waterford and Dunmore East Sea Safari.

They’ve been up and running for a fortnight and are already taking legions of locals, Irish groups as well as visitors from as far away as the US up and down the coast of Waterford and Wexford.

Their ten meter inflatable rib is similar to those used by inland lifeboat services, Elaine said. They’re fully licensed from the Department of the Marine and fully insured with life jackets and waterproof clothing provided for all 12 passengers on board.

She’s already helped hen and stag party groups zip up and down the south east coastline and is being booked for tours as part of the imminent Tall Ships Race in Waterford city from July 6 to 9.

Dunmore East is the perfect starting point for tours. The estuary up to Waterford is spectacular, featuring cliffs, caves and coves. It’s steeped in history.

The boat can travel at speeds up to 45mph if required. But the speed is always dictated by those on board. “Some people want to cruise along, others want a faster passage.”

The unfortunate shipwreck which marred the Cabin Fever adventure for some hasn’t turned her off getting back onto the high seas.

It was a great challenge and the money she won has helped her buy her own home in Dunmore East.

“I’ve always lived by the sea and love it. This trip is very, very safe and we comply with all of the Department of the Marine specifications. We’re very much looking forward to meeting loads of new people and showing them our beautiful coastline.”

The Waterford and Dunmore East Sea Safari can be contacted on 086-8131437 or through Powers’ Centra on 051-383202.
